Mommy Long Legs was originally designed sometime prior to 1991, not as a toy, but instead as a friendly character for the Game Station (which players visit during Poppy Playtime Chapter 2).

Trivia. Mommy Long Legs is based on Daddy Long Legs. Her design may be a potential reference to the Betty Spaghetty toys. She may also be a potential reference to Spinel from Steven Universe based on her appearance, her stretch abilities and personality.

In Chapter 2, in the last puzzle room before Mommy Long Legs' transformation, blue fur and blood marks can be seen on the walls, heavily implying that Huggy Wuggy survived and climbed up, albeit in a bloodied, injured state. If Huggy Wuggy did die, the Prototype likely took his remains and made them part of his body.
