Inspired by family tradition, orange sherbet punch is easy to make and the perfect recipe for Christmas, weddings, baby showers, and holiday parties.

Soon we’ll be celebrating Christmas and ringing in the New Year, believe it or not. This orange sherbet punch is a recipe very similar to the sherbet punch my grandmother made every single Christmas without fail.

this recipe

Orange sherbet really does make the best holiday punch. While I love the non alcoholic punch all by itself, the sherbet adds a creamy delicious froth that leaves behind an epic sherbet mustache.

Out of all the punch recipes in the world, this one is my favorite by far. I've even added it to my list of favorite Christmas recipes because it truly is the best.

If you're looking for a Christmas punch or party punch you can throw together in just a few minutes, you've come to the right place.

A HOLIDAY PUNCH THAT BRINGS BACK SO MANY MEMORIES

Every Christmas my grandma would setthe punch bowl out on top of her big console tv. Little handled glasses hung on the sides of that punch bowl.

Grandma, my mom, and aunts would scoop orange sherbet as fast as they could, topping that delicious party punch with everyscoop.

Everyone would grab a cup, and the punch seemed to refill itself as everyone enjoyed it. Looking back, I realize now how much pride and happiness Grandma got out of having everyone in her home.

Personally, I love a good non alcoholic drink recipe. My family doesn't really drink, and we have a lot of kids in the family who love to enjoy a really good punch.

TIPS FOR HOW TO MAKE A DELICIOUS SHERBET PUNCH

While Grandma used 7-Up in her punch, I love to use Cranberry Sprite. Really, any lemon lime or cranberry lemon lime soda will work.

I also use a little less cranberry apple juice than Grandma used. 3 cups seems to be just the right amount of juice.

Just a couple of tips…

  • Chill the juices and soda ahead of time so they're nice and cold, and the sherbet won't melt as fast.
  • Definitely be sure to get your sherbet out of the freezer ahead of time so it's easier to scoop when you're ready for it.

  • 1/2 gallon of sherbet seems to do the trick, but if you want more, add a whole gallon. No one will ever complain of too much sherbet.
