Easy Chicken Parmesan Sub Bake Recipe (1)

Easy recipes are what we do around here and this Chicken Parm Sub Bake does not disappoint on flavor OR simplicity! As a matter of fact it has becomeone of my go to recipes when we are going to a party or potluck because you can make enough for a crowd in only a few minutes!

With the Super Bowl (i.e. the best excuse for party food all year!) coming up I knew I needed to get this recipe shared with you. Sub rolls that are soft on the inside and crusty on the outside, are stuffed with Italian style chicken tenders, tangy marinara sauce, and of course lots and lots of delicious cheese. I am not sure who will win the game, but these will definitely win the food table! If you are prepping your Super Bowl menu make sure to save this recipe and check out the Talk About Delicious website for more ideas!

Easy Chicken Parmesan Sub Bake Recipe (2)

This dish is kind of a hybrid between a casserole and an individual meal. Since you bake these subs all in one dish it makes it quick and easy to prepare, but it is also easy to serve because each sandwich remains individual. If you are going to serve more of a meal at your party, you can leave the sub rolls whole, or if you want to serve this as more of a heavy appetizer or grazing food, then when you take it out of the oven you can slice it horizontally across to make lots of mini sized sandwiches.

Easy Chicken Parmesan Sub Bake

To make this recipe grab a 9×13 baking dish, Tyson® Italian Style Chicken Tenders, your favorite 6-8″sub rolls (I picked mine up at the Walmart bakery,) Great Value Shredded Italian Cheese Blend, and a jar of your go to marinara sauce.

Easy Chicken Parmesan Sub Bake Recipe (3)

Start by placing the chicken tenders on a cookie sheet and bake as directed. I am really picky about my meat, and the Tyson®Italian chicken tenders are perfect for this recipe because they are real whole white meat chicken breast, and the Italian breading works perfectly for the chicken parmesan flavors with out having to make it from scratch. These are a go to for this recipe!

While the chicken is baking, cut the top of your sub roll 3/4 of the way through. You don’t want to cut them down the side like a traditional sandwich, but lengthwise across the top so it looks a little more like a hot dog bun. Place all of your cut rolls into your 9×13 dish.

Next add a layer of cheese to the bottom of the cut in each roll. Then once the chicken is done, Place a chicken tender on top of the cheese inside the sandwich. Depending on how big your rolls are you might need to cut the tenders in half when you place them in the roll because the Tyson®tenders are really big and meaty.

Spoon marinara sauce over each chicken tender. I like to be generous, but not over zealous. You don’t want so much it is messy and impossible to eat, but enough to over the chicken in the sandwich. I like to add the remainder of the jar to a bowl sitting next to the sandwiches for anyone who likes theirs a little saucier to have something to dip in.

Last, cover the top of each sandwich with the Italian cheese blend. Again, you don’t have to be too heavy handed here since we added some delicious melty cheese at the bottom of each sandwich too.

Bake at 400˚F on the middle oven rack for 8-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and everything is heated through.

Once these are out of the oven you can use a spatula to serve up full sized sandwiches or cut them in half or thirds to make as many as 18 small sandwiches to serve as an appetizer. Either way, this easy dish is surely a winner both in taste and easy prep!

Love this idea! Chicken Parm is a definite favorite in our house — I’ve even turned it into a casserole. I bet the combination of sub and baked dish makes these so delicious (and easy)!!
